V-dog contains wheat, barley, maize, textured vegetable (soya) protein, high protein soya, soya oil and minerals. It is fine and your dog will receive all its amino acids from this food, but no mention is made of non-GMO and all the ingredients would be chosen to make more of a profit from the food (as all the ingredients are relatively cheap to purchase) rather than with your dog’s health in mind. It also has added preservatives and antioxidants as shown in the ingredient list below.
There are no extra legume-based foods or high quality ‘superfoods’ , but it seems to be a popular and cheaper source of feeding your dog a plant-based diet so has to be recommended. It would not suit dogs with an form of food intolerance or food allergies however as it does contain high amounts of wheat and soy (2 of the 5 top allergens in dogs).
