Terms and Conditions
Our homemade plant based dog foods have been tested on our own dogs only and although we work with german vet nutritionists in their formulation, we cannot be held responsible for any complications that may arise in your pet with any of the products and ingredients that we are using and recommend. We offer transparency and honesty as we have had no large corporate financial backing, only our own scientific research and using every product on our own family dog, to find a sustainable solution to feed our pets and protect the planet’s health.
Our homemade recipes are recommended for use in ADULT DOGS with no clinical conditions. Genetic conditions do occur such as autoimmune conditions, dilated cardiomyopathy, cancer, allergies and genetic bone abnormalities that may result in early onset arthritis in your pet and a shorter lifespan. We do not claim to treat any chronic conditions with a plant-based diet, but we do attempt to lessen the effects of these conditions should your pet be born with a genetic condition as well as minimise any risks of your dog developing any hereditary conditions.
We cannot be held responsible for any injuries that may occur with the production and cooking of our homemade recipes, use of a pressure cooker, and use of our supplements.
Disclaimer – The Algae oil Vegetology supplements are human supplements. It is safe to use them at the appropriate levels, but choosing incorrect products or doses is not recommended. It is your responsibility to ensure that you select a suitable product and dose your pet correctly. If you are unsure, please do ask us for advice.
The information we provide is based on our own market research and information obtained from scientific journals and veterinary professionals. We cannot claim these to always be fully accurate and correct. We expect owners to follow our recipes meticulously with the correct weights and ingredients for their pets, and it is recommended to vary the recipes and not just feed the same recipe over time, to ensure that all nutrient needs are met. We cannot be held responsible if these specific criteria are not met.
If your pet suffers with any clinical conditions, we do not offer any veterinary advice for any individual cases unless a teleconsult is booked. We always recommend that any pet with any clinical concerns be taken to their own vets.
Refunds and Cancellations
You are able to cancel your order at any time. Please let us know by contacting us at veganvet@vegan-dogfood.co.uk and the order will be cancelled. We offer a full refund or replacement if you are not entirely happy with the product or if it arrives damaged in anyway.
PLEASE NOTIFY US STRAIGHT AWAY IF THE FOOD APPEARS CLUMPED OR HAS AN UNUSUAL SMELL OR CONSISTENCY AS VERY OCCASIONALLY, DAMP MAY ENTER A SEALED BAG. We are all about health and we would send out a fresh bag straight away and recommend that if you have any suspicions at all about a particular food, that you do NOT feed it to your pet, but contact us straight away as we will request the contents of the bag be sent for analysis.
Some pet food tins are made from thin metal, so we package them carefully for shipping. However the odd tin can get a little dented during transit. In the majority of cases this is simply cosmetic damage and the contents are unaffected. If you see a dented tin on delivery, just give it a quick once over and if you can’t see any leaks and the can is unpunctured – the food will be fine. If a can has leaked or is punctured get in touch via email at veganvet@vegan-dogfood.co.uk
If you have placed an order and it has been sent out and you have changed your mind, we can only issue a refund if it is returned to us at your own expense and arrives sealed and undamaged. Please let us know about any issues straight away by contacting us at veganvet@vegan-dogfood.co.uk
If you are not sure if your dog will like the food, before placing a large order, please try our sample packs.
We use DPD as our delivery service for the heavier parcels as they provide next day deliveries for orders placed Monday – just before 12pm Thursday for UK Mainland. Any orders placed 12pm Thursday – Sunday evening will only be sent on Monday to arrive Tuesday. Please note that this only applies to UK mainland. We do ship to other non-mainland areas of the UK, but do not offer a next day delivery service with DPD for these areas. We use DHL for Highland, Island and Northern Island orders and please expect 3 – 5 days delivery to these areas. Any small orders of supplement or sample packs are sent via 48 hour Royal Mail.
We respect and request any feedback both good and bad that allows us to improve upon our service for future orders and to support as many plant-based dog owners as possible.
