Meeko is a very lucky little French Bulldog who ended up at a rescue centre in Banff as he had such severe skin conditions. The owner of the rescue centre who is used to owning only German Shepherds, and is now Meeko’s long term foster Mum, sent me this e-mail –
“Meeko is a 3 yr old French Bulldog with a severe skin disease and has been on Apoquel since July 2020 and on/off prednisone for flare ups. He is regurgitating/vomiting after every meal. He has been on omeprazole, maropitant and more Apoquel. He is now on Cytopoint injections (monthly). He has to be fed on wet food from a height.
He had to go for a MRI whole body that’s when the vet referral in Aberdeen said to put him on Solo and we found you.”
How inspiring to then receive this feedback just a few weeks later!…
“Meeko is on Solo tins and Solo dried and is a lot better he’s starting to put on a little weight, he’s off all medication for his stomach and isn’t being sick. Before he was sick every time he ate. I just can’t believe the difference with him not being sick every day and night!
Thank you so much for making Meeko better.”
This is just SO heart warming to hear. Frenchies suffer so frequently from animal protein intolerances which lead to so many digestive issues as well as skin flare ups.
They tend to receive large doses of antibiotics to treat their skin conditions which kill off their good gut bacteria and further result in their immunity being affected causing even worse skin issues. Just by changing to a plant-based animal protein free diet that enhances their gut microbiome and stimulates their immunity makes all the difference.
Meeko is proof that his new healthy plant-based diet is his medicine and thank goodness he ended up at that particular rescue centre with a dedicated Mum who really cares about him and his health:)

April just loves Give A Dog A Bean!
I have never seen such a manic reaction from two lazy dogs, they scoffed Give A Dog A Bean as if this was the first meal they’ve had in a long time
Beautiful Loki the Vizsla loves Give A Dog A Bean
He’s on Solo Vegetal, as I’ve always been a dry food feeder for convenience, but he goes absolutely nuts for your Give A Dog A Bean!
Arthur the Diabetic Labrador thrives on his plant-based diet
Just as in humans, the best diet when suffering from diabetes, is a balanced fibre rich, plant-based diet
