How I wish that you could have all been there with me and how fortunate I felt to be able to go to the 2022 Plant-Based Expo International held in the same place as Vegfest where I spoke just a few weeks earlier!
It was like attending the ‘Eurovision of plant-based food’ with an array of stands from around the world (mainly Europe, but Australia there too:) and their incredible plant-based foods that they can offer the UK public and hopefully the rest of the world!
As I went from stall to stall tasting delicious things (yes I did end up with a really sore stomach as I’m not used to eating so much processed foods…..but oh so delicious!), all I could think of was…….WHY DO WE USE ANIMAL PRODUCTS AT ALL IN THE FOODS THAT WE EAT!? It just doesn’t make sense as everything tasted so great!
I tasted ‘mozzarella’ melted on a pizza, slices of ‘bratwurst’ and peppery tender ‘steak’, cold delicious ‘prawns’ and amazing ‘caviar’ made from seaweed, danish yoghurt and ice cream, french and italian ‘cheeses’….I could go on an on and everything was amazing and delicious and I so wish that anyone who says they cannot give up dairy or meat or fish could have been there!!
It is the easiest thing in the world now to go plant-based for our planet, for our animals and for our own health and the health of our dogs 🙂
It was all thanks to The Pack owned by the lovely Judy and Damien, that I found out about the Plant-Based Expo, as they were the only dog food company there amongst hundreds of the human brands (see images below).
Their stand attracted so much attention from delegates from around the world, as just as we had no idea that ‘caviar’ can be made from seaweed, or danish yoghurt can be made from almond milk; so many people still do not know that dog food can be made from pure delicious plant-based sources too!
It was so good to speak to Judy and Damien and hear about their new oven-bake biscuits that they are releasing in a few months time that is fully balanced and loved by our little Ruff…so we will definitely be stocking it when it launches in our Just be Kind Shop!
The Pack have been speaking to Pets At Home and what they told me was music to my ears! Apparently they may be getting their tinned food stocked in Pets At Home….and they were told by the Pets At Home team that the new Wainwright’s Pets At Home plant-based food that launched this year, is one of Pets At Homes’ biggest sellers – hurrah and what a victory for plant-based feeding of dogs!!!!
