Did you know that we share the same gut microbiome as our dogs? What a pleasure it was to share this information when I was invited to speak amongst plant-based doctors at this year’s Vegfest event in London.
With this knowledge, it makes so much sense that we then see the same reduction in signs of chronic inflammation and auto-immune conditions in our dogs when both us and our dogs follow a nutritionally complete wholefood plant-based diet.
What is the main function of the gut microbiome in our dogs?
-
Digest food to feed the good bacteria.
-
Regulate your dog’s immune systems.
-
Tweaking their brain chemistries through the chemicals they produce.
