Princess is an 8 year old Shih Tzu whose life transformed on a homemade fresh vegan diet. She suffers from such a severe allergic skin condition – the photos are proof of how desperate her Mum felt having her little dog in such pain and discomfort. Their vet advised Purina which Princess did not do well on, so her Mum changed her onto a raw diet – Bella and Duke hoping that this would clear her symptoms.
Everything became so much worse as the level of bacteria from the raw meat Bella and Duke diet caused so many extra problems. In a short space of time, as shown in the images below Princess suffered from
- Severe allergies and scratching which led to fungal infections in her ear
- Ulceration on her eye from all the scratching that required surgery to repair
- Irritation of her skin needing antibiotics and cortisone treatment
- Constant trips to the vet for regular medication that had little effect
In her Mum’s words ‘We wanted to get her off everything as doing our research we knew the longer she was on steroids the more time we were taking off her life. After the first month of Fleetful fresh homemade food, we started to see things improve and now the differences we are SOย thankful for in Prinny are:
- She is now completely off steroids
- Sleeping through the night as no more irritation
- Has stopped trying to steal food and is completely satisfied with her own meals and daily treats
- Falls sleep after her meals now
- Scarring from eye ulcer and gridding operation that we were told would never go away now completely gone and her eyes are 100% healthy again
- She has much more energy to play with her brother and go on nature trails without being carried half way through
- No longer needs medicated shampoo
- Not had a fungal infection since her 3rd week on Fleetful fresh food (this was something that would clear and reappear within 24-48 hours)
