Once transitioned to plant-based (which she now absolutely loves) her itching stopped, the hotspots went (no need for a cone of shame anymore), her ears don’t smell anymore and she gets no more tear-staining!
Message from her Mum November 2023 –
“Just wanted to share a bit of good news with you all! This is Pax, she’s 9 and has been vegan for 3 1/2 years – before that she was fed organic raw meat.
She used to have all sorts of issues – allergies with constant hot spots, mystery lumps, bad staining around her eyes and mouth, problematic anal glands… she was at the vets with a new issue every 3 months or so.
Since going vegan all of these issues cleared up and she’s so much more agile and energetic. I took her for a health check yesterday and asked them to run a full blood count just to check everything and if healthy, use as baseline bloods moving forwards.
The vet said her bloods were outstanding – literally everything was spot on – and that if she had a 9 year old dog with such good bloods she’d be very happy so whatever we’re doing for her, it’s working.
I shared that she’s vegan and she was super supportive and said she often recommends veggie or vegan diets for dogs 💚 So, if you’re thinking about making the switch for your pup or you’re anxious about getting started – do it, our only regret is not doing it sooner!”
