Terrific Tofu Traybake
OUR TERRIFIC TOFU TRAYBAKE IS OUR LUXURY RECIPE FOR YOUR DOG!
This is one of our favourite recipes to make as it is so easy and it uses the beautifully balanced goodness found in tofu to nourish your dog. They will smell the high protein level in it and love this recipe!
Cooked ingredients
- Organic Maize Flour
- Tofu or Tempeh
- Carrots
- Tinned tomatoes or fresh
- Courgettes
- Tinned lentils
- Nutritional Yeast
- Dried Cranberries
- Pinch salt
- Sunflower oil

TOP TIPS TO INCREASE NUTRIENT VALUE
- Use tempeh instead of tofu to offer even more protein as well as enhancing gut bacteria as tempeh is fermented
- Add fresh basil onto the tray bake prior to cooking for extra anti-inflammatory nutrients
- Use home sprouted lentils instead of tinned rinsed lentils to increase digestibility of nutrients
- Do not bake, but feed it with the carrots and courgettes grated and raw for added vitamins. Can mix 1 tsp Agar Agar with warm water and mix into 1kg of cooked food to offer a more slimey consistency that some dogs prefer.
Cooking Instructions:
*1 x 400g tin contains approximately 240g of drained lentils
- Drain and rinse the tinned lentils well
- Roughly crumble the tofu
- Add sunflower or coconut oil to a large pan and fry the tofu and lentils together. (Coconut oil makes tofu more crunchy)
- Add nutritional yeast and a pinch of salt and continue frying until tofu has lightly browned
- Meanwhile finely chop or grate the courgettes and carrots
- Use a large mixing bowl and add fried tofu / lentils, grated vegetables, cranberries, tinned tomatoes (or fresh chopped) and maize flour
- Gradually add boiling water and mix well until a thick, paste like consistency is created
- Line 1 or 2 large oven trays with greaseproof paper and evenly spread the tofu mix
- Bake at 180℃ for 30 minutes or longer if your dog prefers crunchy food. Can also be fed without being baked if you do not have a fussy dog
Nutrient rich icing for Terrific Tofu Traybake:
- Mash the banana until soft
- Add JUST BE KIND Supplement, Algae oil, kelp powder and tahini with some plant-based milk to form a paste
- ONLY WHEN COMPLETELY COOLED, spread the supplement paste onto ½ of the cooked traybake and fold the other ½ on top creating a ‘cake’
- Slice traybake into individual portions and store in biodegradable packaging or containers to refrigerate. Option to freeze when preparing larger batches
