Pure Peanut Butter

Pure Peanut Butter on dog's nose vegan dog food

Pure peanut butter means it is just full of natural groundnuts – no added sugars, no artificial sweeteners such as xylitol, and no palm oil. It is a wonderful addition to so many of the treat recipes that we share with you.

Dogs love the taste of peanut butter and by combining it with all the other ingredients, it loses its dryness.  Dogs do find it very hard to lick when fed on its own as it contains so little moisture (which is apparently why peanut butter doesn’t really go off and doesn’t need to be refrigerated).

For dogs with allergic skin conditions caused by sensitivities and food intolerances, the best way to give those medications is in peanut butter. It is far more effective than using cheese or sausages (the standard tablet concealer used by the UK public) as both cheese and sausages contain so many of the main allergens that dogs react to – dairy and pork.

A very typical dish in Uganda is called ‘Odii’ which is made of roasted groundnuts and roasted sesame seeds as they know the enormous value of both these foods in providing the main nutrients to prevent malnutrition in people so these additions to your dog’s diet will definitely be beneficial to their health.
