We are here to fully support you
Just as with human vegan food, we do worry that vegan dog food may cost more as the ingredients of the food are more expensive. In the UK, meat-based products are so heavily subsidised that 95% of all the dog food made from the byproducts of this subsidised industry are cheap to obtain, so there is a lot of money to be made by these companies – whether raw or dry dog food. Most of the dry dog food is made up of ‘cereals’ though which are 90% of the time corn or maize and not too expensive, especially if it is GMO corn. There are a number of vegan dog foods available in the UK that are corn-based too such as Benevo, Ami and V-Dog.
We are so passionate about plant-based feeding in dogs, that we want to support you and hopefully make it affordable for you. We appreciate that our GREEN PAWS package is expensive as it offers all the premium plant-based products that we have carefully selected for our own dog that are corn free, soya free and non-GMO, but there are other foods on the market in the UK that are affordable and nutritious such as the 3 brands shown above.
Another solution to allow you full control of all the ingredients that you feed your dog and to make it fully affordable, is to homecook. We offer 3 recipes that are made with wholesome and sustainable ingredients that you would buy for yourself and our recipes are sold to you tailormade to your dog’s size and requirements along with a free tub of either the All-In-Veluxe VegDog supplement, or the V-Complete supplement from Vegan4Dogs.
The recipes and supplements have been formulated in association with Germany’s top vet nutritionists, Dr Lisa Walther and Dr Romberger to be 100% balanced, and adapted for you, the UK dog owner with ingredients that you can source easily in your local supermarket (or grow in your garden).
These recipes can be used for the lifetime of your dog so you know that with each meal you cook, you are getting it 100% right for your dog! They can be supplemented with any of the dry vegan brands that we have reviewed for you here.
If your dog suffers with any allergies or food intolerances, we would advise choosing the Feed the Rainbow Recipe and Quinoa Recipe using All-In-Veluxe supplement as it contains none of the top allergens in dogs to aggravate any itching.
